No radiation is used in this type of test. Kent's Outpatient Imaging Center uses the area's most advanced high-speed, high-field technology.    ###### Contact Information **Kent Hospital** 455 Toll Gate Road Warwick, RI 02886 P: [(401) 737-7010](tel:(401)%20737-7010), ext. 31988 **Hours** Outpatient services are available between 7:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. ## What should you experience during your MRI exam? MRI testing is non-invasive and painless (some exams may require an injection to improve contrast (visibility) of the image. There is no radiation associated with MRI and the new technology is much more comfortable for adults and children, especially those who may experience claustrophobia (fear of enclosed space).  MRI is used for exams of: - Extremities (bones and/or joints) - Spine - Brain - Abdomen - Pelvis - Breast tissue (*including breast biopsies)   - Head and neck - Vascular The technologists at the Kent Outpatient Imaging Center are registered and certified in magnetic resonance imaging and our board-certified radiologists are experienced in the interpretation of MRI studies.
