Kent Hospital Behavioral Health
Kent's 11-bed unit cares for patients needing mental health services. This dedicated unit is staffed by board-certified psychiatrists and certified psychiatric nurses backed by the full medical resources of the hospital.
Kent Unit at Butler
The Kent Hospital Unit located at Butler hospital provides care and support for adults with psychiatric conditions such as major depression, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia. Treatment for these and other mental illnesses is provided in a safe and caring environment.
This program is operated by Kent Hospital - an arrangement made possible through Butler and Kent Hospitals' Care New England affiliation. The 20-bed unit modifies and controls environmental stimuli in order to fit the clinical needs of patients. Treatment includes:
- Focus groups.
- Occupational therapy activity groups.
- Medication education groups.
- Family support groups.
- Behavioral therapy.
- Individual therapy.
- Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous meetings.
