Biography

Christopher M. Furey, MD, is a family physician who specializes in the comprehensive care of patients, including preventive care, the management of chronic medical illnesses and the treatment of acute illnesses. His specific medical interests include delivering patient centered care, teaching aspiring physicians and working to improve the way health care systems deliver care for patients with chronic illnesses.

Dr. Furey graduated from Rhode Island College and then earned his medical degree from The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. He went on to complete his residency at Brown University’s Family Medicine Residency at Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island in Pawtucket where he served as chief resident. While in residency Dr. Furey was honored with the Rhode Island Academy of Family Physician’s Family Medicine Resident of the Year award.

In addition to his work at Primary Medical Group of Warwick, Dr. Furey serves as an assistant professor of family medicine (clinical) at Alpert Medical School of Brown University and serves as a board member for the Rhode Island Academy of Family Physicians.
