Clinical experiences are wide and varied, and meet the background that is necessary to qualify you to be a competent nurse anesthetist Experience will be obtained within the hospital departments of the main operating room, outpatient surgery, post anesthesia care unit (PACU), obstetrics, and pulmonary function laboratory. Students will rotate to affiliate clinical sites for neuro anesthesia and open heart experiences.
Emergency Case Experience
After completing the orientation period, students will be assigned to a rotating call schedule for emergency experience. A call room is available for nurse anesthesia students when assigned to 24 hour call.
An anesthesia and medical library is available at Kent Hospital. Students are also admitted free of cost to the Brown University Medical Library for study and research. Students have continuous access to use of all library, audiovisual, and media educational materials at Central Connecticut State University.
