The new Kent has arrived.

Navigating quality care, together.

Kent believes our new tagline hits home for all. It has always been our mission to give exceptional care to everyone in the community. We have always been dedicated to being there for you throughout your journey, and we continue to find ways to go above and beyond for our patients. The New Kent outwardly recognizes that navigating healthcare is something that we’d like to make as easy as possible for you, so that you can focus on the things that matter. Additionally, you will now see through our expression of the brand greater inclusivity for all people, and new ways to interact with our expert providers that best suit individual needs.

Our new logo.

Designed to work effortlessly across digital and physical channels, the new logo is meant to reflect Kent Hospital’s commitment as a partner in care as you navigate life’s journey. It is meant to evoke feelings of inspiration, positivity, and can be interpreted as a pathway of good health. For over 70 years Kent has served with quality and access. We are taking the next steps forward to ensure that everyone continues to receive the expert care being offered, in a modern and inclusive way.

Let's start from the beginning.

Geographically located in the center of the state, Kent Hospital has long been relied upon to offer compassionate care from birth to end of life and the array of medical milestones in between. Since it first opened its doors to the public, Kent has grown from a two-bed emergency room to a 47-bed emergency department, making it the second-largest in the state. Kent began its journey focused on local care options for its surrounding communities and has become a leader in comprehensive surgical care, non-emergent cardiac procedures, wound care, and medical training. Kent is building for the future, with the latest technology and techniques that bridge the gap between its longstanding history and a new era of inspirational distinction for generations to come.

A rich history, with a vibrant future.

Progressive

Kent Hospital is a leader in healthcare innovations of the future while navigating the present circumstances of good health in front of us today.

Scientific

Kent Hospital uses the scientific method to think through healthcare challenges that go beyond the medical office. Expectations of care are exceeded when logic and reason are used to get to the best possible outcomes for all involved.

Multifaceted

Kent Hospital has a wide range of services that span the entire medical industry – all without losing focus of it’s primary objective – supporting all Rhode Islanders with expert healthcare.

1951
On May 1, 1951, the doors opened for patients. The hospital's facilities were in perfect condition and the nervous but excited staff quietly waited for their first patient. Soon enough, the first patient arrived in labor, and a baby girl was born. But she wasn't the only baby born that day. Shortly afterward, Kent's first baby boy arrived, and was, appropriately enough, named Kent by his delighted parents.

Future
We are continuing to create safe spaces for patients and employees in the hospital, while also providing the best care possible. As the years come, the DEI Council will continue to spread throughout the community, new high-tech equipment will be added, old wayfinding signage will be replaced to match our new brand standards and more.

Patient Testimonials

My birth experience and the hospital staff were outstanding. The nurses and doctors were attentive and kind. Employees delivering food were kind, cheerful and accomodating.
Everyone I encountered was friendly, personal & informative. I was impressed with their ability to help each other, probably because of the importance of the procedure.
This was my 2nd admission to Kent in the past 10 yrs. They did everything possible to make my stay safe & pleasant and left me with the feeling that Kent is my hospital.
I was overall very pleased with my experience from beginning to end. I even commented to the OR staff that they ran like a well oiled machine. Not only great at their jobs, but they had great bed-side manner.
Everyone was super friendly and made sure I was calm & comfortable the whole time. I was nervous not being able to have someone come in with me but the nurses made me feel comfortable enough to help get rid of my nerves.
The staff were caring, professional and diligent. Without exception. The nursing staff in particular were amazing. I was impressed not only by excellent care, but enthusiasm, upbeat attitude and sense of humor. They made me feel like family.
