Throughout its history, Kent Hospital has strived to bring technologically advanced health care to our community. The 2012 Kent Hospital Annual Fund will support Kent’s nationally recognized, state-of-the-art Wound Recovery and Hyperbaric Medicine Center.
As Rhode Island’s largest hyberbaric medicine facility, Kent is the only hospital offering 24-hour hyperbaric oxygen (HBO) therapy from Portland to Pittsburgh. Through hyperbaric oxygen therapy we are bringing the healing power of oxygen to selected, hard to heal wounds and other forms of tissue injury. Using the latest techniques, the Center treats wound conditions from peripheral vascular disease, diabetes, trauma, cancer, ostomy, burns and other concerns. Providing an innovative and coordinated treatment plan specifically designed for each patient, our extensive team of medical, surgical, and nursing professionals offer treatments that help to reduce pain, promote faster healing, and ultimately improve the lives of thousands of patients. One of our patients recently said:
“Prior to HBO treatment there were many days that I could not leave the house. I couldn’t take the pain any more. When the simple things are hard, you have to try something new.
It was a long treatment process, but the nurses and doctors at the [Wound Recovery and Hyperbaric Medicine] Center were great. They couldn’t seem to do enough for their patients. The lesson I’ve learned is miracles take time.”
