Lisa B. Shea, MD
is the Associate Medical Director, Quality & Regulation, at Butler Hospital and the Assistant Unit Chief of the Partial Hospital.
Previously, she served as the Medical Director of Mental Health Services. Her clinical focus is in the Women’s Partial Hospital Program, a dialectical behavior therapy oriented partial hospital program.
Administratively, she serves in many capacities including as the Butler Hospital Privacy Officer; Chair of the Medical Records Committee; Physician Champion of the Electronic Medical Record; and a member of the CNE Quality Committee. She is a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and was selected as the 2007 Employee of the Year at Butler Hospital and is a member of the 2009 Leadership Rhode Island Epsilon II class. She assumes the role of President of the Butler Hospital Staff Association in September, 2011, and serves as a member of the Board of Directors of Care New England. She holds the appointment of Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior at the Alpert School of Medicine. She also is involved in community advocacy activities including serving on the Rhode Island Women’s Health Advisory Committee, the Women’s Health Council of Rhode Island, the Rhode Island Special Education Advisory Committee, and as a board member for Families for Effective Autism Treatment of Rhode Island, and a trustee at large to the National Association of Psychiatric Healthcare Systems in Washington, DC.
