Kent Hospital is pleased to announce The University of New England has appointed Joseph Spinale, D.O., FACC, regional assistant dean for the College of Osteopathic Medicine (UNECOM). Dr. Spinale also serves as director of medical education and chief of cardiology at Kent Hospital.
Dr. Spinale has been an active staff member at Kent Hospital since 1997. Spinale served as Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at UNECOM from 2005- 2010, then in 2011 became Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine. Dr. Spinale is also vice president of Kent Hospital's medical staff, and serves on the board of the Kent Hospital Board of Trustees. Prior to teaching at The University of New England, Dr. Spinale taught at Brown University School of Medicine.
Kent Hospital is a major teaching affiliate of the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine (UNECOM), which as been ranked as one of the top medical schools in the Northeast. Graduate Medical Education at Kent Hospital began in 2008 with programs in Family Medicine and Emergency Medicine. It has since expanded to include an Internal Medicine Residency Program and an Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine Fellowship.More than 30 residents are currently enrolled in Kent's GME program.
