Warwick, RI… Kent Hospital and the VNA of Care New England are pleased to welcome Kate M. Lally, MD, FACP, to Affinity Physicians as a palliative care physician. Dr. Lally will also serve as medical director of palliative care for Kent Hospital and medical director for hospice care at the VNA of Care New England. Dr. Lally comes to Kent Hospital and the VNA, from Philadelphia, PA, where she served as associate medical director at Penn Hospice at Rittenhouse. Dr. Lally has extensive experience supervising medical care provided during home visits to both hospice and palliative care patients.

With Dr. Lally's strong background in hospice care, she and her team will be there to provide medical, psychological and spiritual support to our patients and their families during what can be an extremely difficult time."
"It is important to increase awareness about what palliative care is and how a palliative care specialist can assist with the care of a patient," said Lally."My goal is to work collaboratively with health care providers, who are primarily involved with the patient's care, to provide support, consultation and education. I would like to see palliative care as a widely available service to patients throughout the state."
Kate M. Lally, MD, FACP is a graduate of Yale University of Medicine. She completed her medical internship and residency at the Hospital of University of Pennsylvania and was clinical faculty for the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine.
Dr. Lally was associate medical director for Penn Hospice at Rittenhouse from 2010 to 2011 before serving as medical director of the inpatient unit from 2011- 2012. Dr. Lally previously served as medical director for Trinity Hospice in 2008 and was also an associate of Radnor Medical Associates from 2005-2011.
