A Message from the Director of Medical Education:
Thank you for your interest in Graduate Medical Education programs at Kent Hospital.
Most physicians recall their time in residency as the highlight of their professional career. This exciting phase of your medical training will allow you not only to provide the patient-centered care that you have been training for, but also to be both teacher and student in a broad array of clinical and didactic settings.
Kent hospital is a vibrant 359-bed medical center with an Emergency Department that cares for nearly 70,000 patients annually. Kent Hospital is affiliated with the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine (UNECOM), which was recently recognized among the top medical schools in the nation for the leadership in rural medicine, geriatrics and primary care training.
We have an outstanding and devoted faculty whose varied interests allow students, residents and fellows to pursue patient-centered care in emergency medicine, family medicine and internal medicine in a friendly and welcoming environment. We also offer a Gastroenterology Fellowship as well as a Hyperbaric Medicine Fellowship that is one of only two in the nation approved by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA).
On behalf of the entire Kent community, we welcome and truly appreciate your interest in our institution and programs.
Joseph W. Spinale, DO, FACC, FACP
