Family Medicine Residency Program Curriculum

We invite interested third and fourth year students to consider doing clinical rotations (clerkships) at Kent Hospital as an opportunity to get to know the hospital and its medical staff while working in a clinically rewarding environment. Currently, we are offering rotations in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics and Emergency Medicine.  Students with a particular interest in Family Medicine are encouraged to consider application to our integrated rotating internship/residency program.  The curriculum is outlined below.

FP Curriculum 2011-2012

PGY-1 Year
Internal Medicine: 4 weeks
Intensive Care Unit (ICU): 4 weeks
Obstetrics: 4 weeks
Gynecology: 4 weeks
Neonatal ICU: 4 weeks
Pediatrics:8 weeks
Emergency Medicine: 4 weeks
Surgery -general: 4 weeks
Wound Care Center: 4 weeks
Community Medicine: 4 weeks
Elective: 4 weeks

PGY- 2 Year
Internal Medicine: 8 weeks
Outpatient Pediatrics: 4 weeks
Emergency Medicine: 4 weeks
Surgery-outpatient 4 weeks
Gastroenterology: 4 weeks
Psychiatry: 4 weeks
Orthopedics: 4 weeks
OB/Gyn-outpatient: 4 weeks
Cardiology: 4 weeks
Selective:4 weeks
Elective: 8 weeks

PGY-3 Year
Geriatrics: 8 weeks
AHEC/IHS: 4 weeks
ENT: 4 weeks
Urology: 4 weeks
Psychiatry: 4 weeks
Urology: 4 weeks
PM&R: 4 weeks
Dermatology: 4 weeks
Hematology: 2 weeks
Radiology: 2 weeks
Sports Medicine: 4 weeks
Selective: 4 weeks
Elective: 8 weeks
