Why Kent Hospital

After my interview at Kent, I was blown away by Thundermist's dedication to break down medical barriers and provide comprehensive care to those who need it most. Moreover, the residents and faculty whom I met were warm, welcoming, and appeared genuinely happy. The collaborative and supportive culture I observed felt like the ideal place to learn and grow as a resident. Also, I have family and friends in New England so the location could not be better!

Hobbies and Interests

I love cooking, traveling, playing tennis, running, relaxing with a good book, and sampling every ice cream spot in the greater New England area with my husband and labradoodle, Kyrie.

My clinical interests include integrative health, nutrition and diabetes management.

Why Kent Hospital

I chose Kent Hospital first and foremost because of the people here. During my interview at Kent I had a very positive experience and could sense that this was an incredibly positive and cohesive group of faculty, staff and residents. The residents in particular were very welcoming, approachable, and enthusiastic about their experiences here so far. I also think Rhode Island is a great location and I love being close to the water!

I was also very interested in Kent Hospital’s program because of the Thundermist Health Center and it’s focus on providing health care to everyone in the community, especially those who are truly in need and underserved. I believe this affiliation with Thundermist Health Center is an amazing opportunity as a resident to learn about full spectrum patient care and make a meaningful contribution to the community.

Hobbies and Interests

My hobbies and interests include playing guitar, snowboarding, reading, and watching movies or documentaries. I’m also a big sports fan and enjoy watching my Toronto hockey and basketball teams.

Why Kent Hospital

I chose Kent Hospital for many reasons, including Thundermist Health Center’s strong commitment to underserved populations and opportunities to pursue my interests in obstetrics and women’s health. During my interview day at Kent Hospital, I was impressed by the family feel of the program and how the faculty was genuinely interested in helping me achieve my specific career goals. I am excited to join the Kent Hospital family and know that the training I receive will allow me to grow into the physician I want to be.

As a first generation immigrant from Ecuador, it was also important to me to pick a program that focused on bringing top notch health care to underserved communities. The Thundermist Clinic does just that and I’m confident that Kent will provide the training I need to practice in any type of community in the future.

Hobbies and Interests

My hobbies and interests include spending time with my two dogs - Ellie and Penelope, reading, hiking, and adventuring with my partner who will be joining me at Kent Hospital. We can’t wait to explore the Northeast!
