Facilities and Affiliations

Kent Emergency Medicine residents complete the majority of their rotations at Kent Hospital. Certain rotations are spent outside at other facilities to increase the resident's exposure to diverse styles of emergency medicine practice and different patient populations. Didactics

The didactic program for the Emergency Medicine residency takes place every Thursday morning from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. The time is protected from other resident duties in the hospital and attendance is mandatory unless on certain offsite rotations or on vacation.

Didactic day generally consists of:

  • EM case presentations by a resident
  • Lectures on core content in EM by core faculty
  • Weekly Emergency Medicine Board Review
  • Various procedure, ultrasound, and simulator labs
  • Guest lectures from outside specialties
  • Morbidity & Mortality Conferences
  • Med-WAR (Medical Wilderness Adventure Race)
