Are you at risk?

Below are some important things to remember and to consider speaking about with your cardiologist.

You might be at risk if:

  • you are a man age 45 or older
  • you are a postmenopausal woman
  • you have had angina or a heart attack before
  • you have family history of heart disease
  • you are diabetic
  • you have high blood pressure or high cholesterol
  • you smoke
  • you are overweight or don't regularly exercise

 

If you think you are having a problem, get medical attention immediately. Call 911Learn the warning signs of heart attack:

Chest pain - pressure, squeezing or fullness in your chest that may last for more than a few minutes, or go away and come back

  • Pain in your upper body-one or both arms, neck, jaw, stomach, or back


Trouble breathing
-
often before or during chest pains

Other signs - breaking out in a cold sweat, nausea or light-headedness


Remember, everyone is different. If you think you are having a problem, get medical attention immediately. Call 911 — it could save your life.
