Kent Hospital’s Nutrition Services department makes every effort to provide the hospital community with the highest quality food and medical nutrition therapy in the most effective manner possible.
Kent's registered dietitians work together with the health care team to achieve positive patient outcomes. A registered dietitian evaluates every admitted patient for nutritional risk, education needs, and appropriate outpatient follow-up for medical nutrition therapy.
While you are a patient at Kent Hospital, a registered dietitian provides nutritional information specific to your medical nutritional needs. For some conditions, such as diabetes, they may encourage you to attend follow-up education programs after discharge, to ensure a healthy recovery. You can also visit the American Dietetic Association for additional educational resources.
Our goal is to provide appropriate and comprehensive nutritional care, teaching the patients of Kent Hospital and the surrounding community to live a healthier lifestyle. The Food & Nutrition Services department at Kent Hospital looks forward to making your stay as pleasant as possible by serving nutritious meals as prescribed by your physician. As a patient at Kent Hospital, the Nutrition Services staff will assist you with your menu selections on a daily basis.
Your meal trays are delivered by our well-trained nutrition service staff at each mealtime, and they will ensure you are receiving food that is nutritious and to your liking.
